Lay the first row of NotchStone below the existing grade. To aid in drainage, place 1 inch of sand or fine gravel in the bottom of your trench.
Make sure that the first row of NotchStone is level. Your wall should have a tendency to lean into the retained earth.
Set each row back 7/8 inch where the notch fits into the stone below it. Backfill 4 inches wide behind the wall with gravel to prevent water from building up behind the wall.
NotchStone may be used to form a solid cap. We recommend using an adhesive under the top row.

RETAINING WALLS INSTALLATION
Restrict the height of all walls to 2 feet. If a single wall is not sufficient to retain the slope, you may terrace successive walls. Space the two terraced walls equal to or exceeding the height of the lower wall.
